We have just released two new features.
It should be helpful to you.
Please check it out.

You can use your Facebook account for youRoom.
First, you can invite your friends to youRoom using Facebook account.
Second, you can upgrade to fanplan using Facebook account too!

Now, we can use not only Twitter account but also Facebook account.
Let's try this feature.

We have increased character limit "140" →　"280"
In Japanese, 140 character limit is enough,
but in English the limit is too small.
(Because, Japanese is an ideogram,
but English(alphabet) is a phonogram.)

We tried to make some same meaning phrases in English and also in Japanese.
We counted the number of characters of each phase.
The average length of English phrases is twice of Japanese phrases.

We hope this feature help your communication more freely.

Archive button is useful!!

Do you use the mail-shaped button in the image above?
If you use the button, you have high level of knowledges about "youRoom".

When we communicate on "youRoom",
there are two types of topics.
Type-1 :
You have to check again,
because you have to reply later or we have to remember later and so on.
Type-2:
You don't have to check again.

Though, we can't find easily the topics of Type-1
when there are so many topics.

In that scene, you can use the mail-shaped button.
It is called "archive button".
You are able to manage the status of topics.

When the topic is posted or the new comment is added,
the button is yellow and unopened shape.
It means the Type-1(the status is "new").
Then you read the Type-1 topics,
you can choose to keep Type-1 or to change Type-2.
If you want to change, please press the button.
The button will be changed to white and opened shape.
It means the Type-2(the status is "archived").
In the home view, after press the button , the topic will disappear.
(Because there are no Type-2 topics in the home view.)

If you press the white and opened shape button,
the button will return to yellow and unopened shape again.

The "archive button" will help you to keep your space
well-organized.

So if you will master this function,
your "youRoom" life will be more comfortable!

Before we submitted the mails, we thought deeply about the
promotional phrases.
We thought that the phrases should be "news".

How can we tell people youRoom's newsworthy points efficiently?
We discussed about it,
then we got three types of "news", at last.

[1]It has a new feature that people have never seen.
   It has a innovative idea.

    →In this type:
      We should explain about the feature and the idea.
      It's very simple.

[2]It has no new features,
   but the concept is different from others.

    →In this type:
      we should choose only one concept,
      and extend or disagree with some existing ideas.

    →This time, we chose this type.
      The phrases for "youRoom":
        Social media became a base environment for us,
        we no longer imagine the life without it.
        But, do the existing tools really fit for business?
        Isn't it risky to share your photo of
        your bachelor party with your customer?
        youRoom offers you the environment
        that you can achieve the "real" business.
        We respect social media,but we took a new idea
        different from existings and created the new tool
        that makes social media more efficient
        for your business,working style,and life.

"youRoom" is a service from Japan.
We want many people in the world to know "youRoom".
So we made a team for overseas marketing last December.

Now we are in a process of trial and error,
because we are not marketing professionals.

We think our trial-and-error will be a useful information
to other entrepreneurs or service owners.

Our first Step is ・・・
TheNextWeb reviewed our service
and posted an article about "youRoom" in their site.

Before it,
we made a list of famous news sites in English.

   and there were some articles about web service
   like "youRoom".

At last, January 28th, we submitted.

After three days,
we were very excited,
because we've found an article about "youRoom" on "The Next Web"!!

We had many feedback that users want to send private message for room members, and we released Direct Message!

You can send private message that is seen by only you and a room member.

Before you need to send message via out of youRoom like Email to send private message that you want to no need to know by other room member.

Now you can send message on youRoom with private!

2. Login with Twitter or Google account

Previously you need to input your password to login, but now you can login with only one click to link Twitter or Google account.

We are planing that users can select more other services like facebook.

3. List on Chrome Web Store

youRoom is listed in Chrome Web Store.

Integrate Twitter

We updated youRoom. This update was implemented to connect to Twitter. youRoom make the users collaborate over the social medias. The first is Twitter.

The point of change is as follows.

- Invitation by Twitter

When you invite the new person of your room, youRoom can send a invitation message by Twitter DM(Direct Message).

- Real-time notification by Twitter

youRoom send a notification message to your Twitter Account by DM when the member send a topic or comments.

- Import from Twitter

The room of youRoom is fetched as topic from Twitter's tweet which is set the keyword and users.

- Use Twitter icon as a youRoom profile

You can use icon picture which uses on Twitter for youRoom.

The function that imports from Twitter was implemented as TwitterFetcher which is the one of "youRoom Application" by using the youRoom-API. To extend youRoom function is called "youRoom Extension". We will soon reveal the spec of "youRoom Extension".

Improve youRoom design!

We improved the interface of youRoom. youRoom is updated that change design and improve of convenience.

The point of change is as follows.

- The interface was completely reformed.

We redesigned to reduce bored time of change screen and an unnecessary click operation as much as possible. The user became easy to come to be able to operate more readily, and for the communication to do further more it.

For instance, the comment came to be displayed by clicking the icon of balloon on the line of time.

- Speed of using youRoom has improved.

It aimed to improve a speed of the user by having increased the operation on one screen. The fast reaction make light-hearted communications easily.

For instance, it checks automatically that another user posted, and informs you the update. You don't need to check manually.

- Can check an unread state of the comment.

In case of that the topic have many comments, the user lose sight latest comment. To solve the problem, it puts the point on the comment that had not been read.

- Can search topic beyond the rooms.

When the user participate in some rooms, it's difficult to search topic by keyword. In new youRoom, it's able to retrieval by keyword that crosses the room.

- Became easy to use the category function.

Ten category boxes can be prepared for the classification of the topic. Moreover, the user choice the category when the topic is posted.

It is scheduled to open it to the public formally by the end of 2010. We will start a plan for a fee, but free plan to be using now is continuously supported.

New Version Invitation

Now we released new version invitation, you can invite new members to your room simply.
And all users can invite, before only room administrator do.

We show how to invite

On new version, there is "Invite" link on room menu. You click this link and see the next page.

Input form and press button, then invitation email will send. An invitee can join with following URL on this email.

There are invites users list on this page. You can resend invite email or cancel invitation on this page.

If you don't want to allow to invite by a user who is not admin of a room, you can set on enterprise version to refuse permission to do so.
